99.5 Magic Radiothon

I was able to be a part of the 99.5 magic radiothon for the Brenner Children's Hospital on Feb 18Th and 19Th 2010. The donations make sure all our children receive the finest medical care, regardless of their families ability to pay. The number that everyone was calling was 1877-343-hero. The people that were able to call in and make a donation was a Brenner Hero. This helps the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. I was able to meet some great people and cancer kids which tells me why I have picked my Platform for this year they were able to get donations the equal for a total over 65,000.

Bob's Buddies Radiothon Nov. 25th broadcast live

On Wednesday the 25Th, Me and my mom along with my friend Kristin traveled to Raleigh/Durham area to attend the second annual radiothon for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. This was a 12h hour long radiothon that was broadcast live over 105.7 and 105.1 from 6a.m till 6p.m. I was able to be on the air from 12p.m till 1 p.m, I was able to talk about my sister Cora and the different things that went on while she was fighting her brain tumor for the 3 years. In the hour that I was on the air there was $11,811 dollars raised for the PBTF, at the end of the day there was a grand total of $134,805 dollars.

Thanks to all the people that called and give a donation also thanks to Bob and he showgram for giving their time and the air time to the PBTF.

There also was a lunch time opportunity that was given to all the people that were listing to the show that if we raised more than 9,000(which was the highest amount in one hour that morin) that Nick would get a kiss from Me (Miss Teen North Carolina) and we hit $11,811 so nick got a kiss ... the Video will be added to the blog in the next couple hours along with pictures.

Save Austin life with bone marrow drive

On November 8Th at 12:00p.m the line was out the door for Austins Bone Marrow drive that started at 1p.m and ended at 5p.m. Austin is a 19 year old young man who is once again fighting Leukemia he has fought this battle and won twice before so please pray for a 3rd miracle. There was over 900 people that came to see if they were the match, to help Austin , please keep him in your prayers an also that there was a match.

Special Olympics

Saturday November 7th I was able to spend time at the special olympics in High Point North Carolina, My home town. Where people came from all over for the events, Saturday night there was a dance for everyone and I was able to meet a lot of the kids and teens that were in the events.

Had a great time and loved every min of it :)

On October 3rd, 2009 Me and my family along with many other families, went to Duke University Hospital for a service to remember the love one's that passed away from cancer in 2009. I was able to share my sisters story with many others and what I am doing with my Title to make something Positive out of something Negative. This service really showed how many others have lost someone to Cancer.

Princess Pageant

Princess Pageant was in Davidson County, I was able to attend the pageant all day and that night one of my best friends gave up title, and I was able to be there for the moment. Was a great show and meeting new people.

In my home town Archdale we had a Bush Hill walk, and I was able to attend. Meeting other queens, doing a little shopping, and having some nice food. I also gave blood for for the 2nd time. What a great fun filled Saturday.

I am sad to say but Mike Traynor the President and the Co- Founder with his Wife of the PBTF has passed away 9-12-09 at the age of 70 years old. I would like to just ask prayers for the Foundation and his family. Mike was a really sweet man and and had a heart of gold to helping find the cure for the pediatric Brain tumors. So that kids could live longer and healthy life's. We will miss him and always love him.

Saturday All Miss and Teens had all day rehearsals ... The funny thing is it started out with no power because of a really bad storm the night before. By lunch time we got power and were able to start rehearsal at a full power. Finals that night were great . We all are so proud about how well North Carolina did this year.

On Tuesday Morin we headed out to the Boys and Girls club and the Navy day along with rehearsal and Group Photo and Dinner. Was a busy but very fun day :) Getting to know everyone and having some fun. Spending some time with little kids and then went out on a speed ride. Then came back for a little rehearsal then a great dinner .

Monday Morin My mom and I had a early flight to the windy City Chicago. It was a great flight, Once we got in we had lunch with Julie (Miss N.C) and Her mom and Joy the Director. Got un packed which toke forever:) followed by teen orientation at 5 p.m then Julie had orientation at 8. Which both went great got to meet everyone and hear all about everyone platform which was learning point. Had a great time and loved meeting everyone from all over and hearing about them, and what they love doing beside pageants.

Tuesday Morning Me and my mom made the way to Asheville to meet with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Where I was able to meet the family that established the foundation which was Mike and Dianne Traynor. There mission at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is to discover the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors through the support of medical research, and to increase public awareness about the severity and prevalence of childhood brain tumors. Therefor that is where many people like me come into play to help raise money to help find the cure. I was told that I was the 1st out side guest that has ever got to sit in a staff daily meeting, which I was able to learn a lot about how the foundation worked and was put together. We also had lunch from subway and got to look around and meet everyone that was in the office the day I came in. I would just like to say a big thanks to all the stiff at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for everything that you'll do for the kids and families like mine. You'll are making a great difference. Thanks

I will be going to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation headquarters July 14Th and 15Th which is in Asheville N.C. Where I will be speaking, having lunch with the stuff, and much more. I will start my day on July 14Th around 12:30 with just walking around and meeting different people and seeing how the foundation works and is put together. There will be pictures coming up after I attend and Video from speaking and me working with everyone.

Being asked by one of our judges from the State pageant Vera Morris to be apart of her team and walk to take steps I and the other N.C Queens walked 2 miles for the Crohn's Disease. With Vera team Raised the most money at 7,500 and all the teams together raised 55,000. Here are some photos from the event.

On May 30th Me and my family went to Duke Hospital to visit Nicholas after he had brain surgery to try to get the Brain Tumor re-moved and which they did but had to take alot of his brain out when they did. They said that he might not never walk or talk but he beat the odds. He is sweet boy with alot of faith. Still keep him and his family in your prayers. Thanks So Much

On Saturday May 23rd at 9:00a.m registration begin at the Harley-Davidson of High Point. The Ride started around 10:15 a.m and had two stops to meet and greet at Ted's Chicken and Big Dawg's. The Ride ended at Harley - Davidson of Greensboro around 2:00p.m . Where there was live music, food and Raffles. Where I was able to speak about Cora's life and what I am doing with my title. Many people were happy to hear what I have done and what I am planning on doing With my title. Some people that came out to the ride did not know Cora so when I spoke, I was able to give some information about Cora's life, and what she passed away from, and how she was a great fighter and sweet little angle.

She is missed, but she was looking down the day of the ride and had her big smile on .

Sunday May 3rd 2009, at the White Oak Recreation Area at the Jordan Lake State Park, N.C Riders from all over came out to ride and raise money to help find the cure. All the money went to help find the cure of the Pediatric Brain Tumors, Which the Pediatric Brain tumor Foundation is over. With over 500 bikes riding in the Motorcy ride they raised over 126,000 dollars for research. I was able to help, ride and be a speaker. I was able to have one on one time with the kids and also able speak about the life of my sister.

Pfeiffer University held the Relay For Life walk on April 24Th till April 25Th early Morin. There was students and family members there. I was asked to be on the Team for Cora Bell a 3 and half year old that passed away from cancer which was my sister. My brother goes to college there and the school asked him to get me there to walk. Many people and I walked all night for a great cause. The Relay for life raised over 2,000 dollars last night for cancer research.

As sunset fell upon Braxton Craven School, Saturday April 11Th, hope and inspiration came down from heaven on a community trying to help out a family. Cora Bell was a 3 and half year old with cancer. This event was April 4th at 6P.m at Rankin Church in High Point North Carolina. I was introduced as Christina Roach Miss Teen North Carolina Int 2009 also as Cora’s Sister. I was able to and speak about my platform which is Child hood cancer. For my Sister Cora. This talent show was to help raise money to help pay off the doctors bills from the 3 and half years of Cora’s life. Miss North Carolina Int 2009 was also there and showed off her talent by singing. It was put together by Emily Couch and Briana McLeod. There were around 20 acts all together. Thanks for letting me be apart of this great event.

The Dress Giveaway was at My Party Palace in Kernersville N.C. Put on by Katie Godfrey owner of Catlin's Closet.
Miss Teen N.C International Christina Roach and Miss N.C International Julie Tesh helped girls pick out the perfect prom night dress. Saturday, March 7, 2009 marked NC's first ever Caitlin's Closet dress giveaway and it took place at My Party Palace in Kernersville.

This particular dress giveaway was open to all Forsyth County high school girls who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to attend or been able to afford the expense of prom. We had refreshments for everyone, as well as exciting raffle prizes!
Prizes included: *Manicure/pedicure and mini prom make-over courtesy of Balance Day Spa in Kernersville.*Make-up kit from Caitlin's Closet's very own cosmetics line valued at $75.00*Photo package for prom or senior pictures valued at $250.00 courtesy of Zumwalt Photography of Winston Salem.
Over the past several months Katie Godfrey had been collecting donated gowns from all over the state...and at just yesterdays event they were able to giveaway over 45 gowns to underprivileged girls in our community.
Total in just the Forsyth County area we have given away close to 100 dresses! Caitlin's Closet is one of the only organizations where girls are able to come and receive dresses at absolutely no cost! My goal was to ensure that these girls not only left with a sense of self-worth but I wanted to help reduce the expenses associated with Prom so that they could go and have a worry free and amazing experience!
